An elongated shopfront to this tenancy offered a wonderful opportunity to create a memorable arrival experience showcasing the business’ ethos. Rather than vast expanses of glazing immediately revealing the store’s interior, the façade was treated as a visually striking, sculptural element celebrating the company’s brand.
The undulating, intricately detailed brick façade juxtaposed with a carefully considered material and colour palette of brushed metal and finely perforated panels creates a textural and visual feast for the senses.The design cleverly incorporates allusions to eyesight and the process of correcting poor vision.
The brickwork patterning references pixilation. The undulating façade segues from convex to concave. Opaque white bricks morph to frosted glass bricks and then clear glass bricks, mimicking the transition from blurry vision to clear sightedness.
The clear glass bricks are closest to the shop entry, allowing the visitor’s focus to be drawn instantly to the red wall inside which acts as a dramatic backdrop to the display of quality glasses.The design of this retail fitout affords a visually exhilarating experience for those seeking aids to support their vision. The combination of form, texture, and colour culminates in a magnificent and animated overall experience for those visiting Hendersons Optical.
