Located within the high traffic environment of Melbourne Central, COMEBUYTEA was designed as an immersive retail experience where architecture becomes part of the brand story. Rather than creating a conventional takeaway kiosk, On Architects transformed the compact tenancy into a destination that celebrates the theatre of tea making. The open preparation area places the brewing process on display, while a striking installation of suspended mirrored forms draws visitors in from across the shopping centre, creating a memorable visual identity within one of Melbourne’s busiest retail precincts.
The material palette combines exposed brick, brushed stainless steel, warm timber, brass detailing, and soft integrated lighting to balance industrial character with warmth and craftsmanship. Oversized tea canisters become both functional storage and architectural features, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to freshly brewed tea while adding rhythm and texture to the interior. Every element, from customer circulation to custom seating and feature lighting, was carefully considered to create a retail environment that feels efficient, engaging, and unmistakably unique.
