8 Stanley Grove, Canterbury
DESCRIPTION
When
January 2017
Despite its imposing presence, this substantial home expresses itself with subtlety via a restrained and neutral colour palette.

The elegant composition and careful juxtaposition of materials creates a timeless design. The bluestone façade alludes to Melbourne’s vernacular, embracing the building’s context, but in a clean, contemporary style.

The elongated northern façade draws in maximum sunlight, whilst the 1,200mm eave ensures shading when needed. Multiple courtyards allow even more light within interior spaces.

Independent of the main structure, the tea pavilion is united with the whole via the all-encompassing roof.
