This project entailed the re-design of an existing proposal which lacked empathy with the surrounding context and offered a cumbersome attempt to engage with the local housing typology. 

After a careful study of the site, we remolded the exterior massing, re-worked the interior layouts of apartments, improving amenity and harnessing architectural opportunities, and introduced a striking material and colour palette.

The bold result creates a new landmark within the streetscape. 
Located atop Doncaster Hill, the design takes full advantage of the spectacular views over Melbourne’s city skyline.
The filigree balustrading and fencing detail act as a balancing foil to the masonry mass, and the use of contrasting light and dark materials brings depth to the aesthetics. 

The white façade provides a blank canvas to display the softening web of greenery.
